Dr. Ahmed El-Zayat
Environmental sanitation & water resources expert
Dr. El-Zayat founded EMG in Egypt in 1999 and has led the practice since, working across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the wider region. His specialisation is water and wastewater treatment systems, and water resources and irrigation.
His doctoral research developed dynamic simulation and modelling for biological phosphorus removal, carried out at Cairo University with Ruhr University Bochum in Germany as co-referee — the foundation of the process-simulation capability EMG applies to plant design and retrofitting today.
Alongside consultancy he has contributed to international conferences and training programmes, including an invited lecture at IWRM Karlsruhe 2010 on a multi-criteria framework for performance benchmarking of the water sectors in the Nile Basin.
